Natural Dyeing : starts Sunday March 17, 11am-5:30pm for 2 sessions


An introduction to the magical world of dyeing with natural dyestuffs (plants, bugs and minerals). Students will learn everything they need to know to continue an exploration of natural dyes at home, including mordanting, preparing the dyebath, and dyeing with cotton fabric, linen fabric and wool yarn. Basic surface design techniques such as shibori will also be explored. Each student will also complete a dye sample book for future reference.

The second day of the class will focus entirely on Indigo dyeing and Shibori techniques.

This natural dyeing class is two 6-hour session, with a half hour lunch break.

Cancellation Policy : Any cancellations or changes to your registration must be done at least 72 hours prior to the class start date in order to be issued a store credit. Cancellations that are made less than 72 hours before the class start date and students who do not show up to class will forfeit their class fee.
