THE WORKROOM PARKDALE : This workshop is scheduled to take place in our new studio at 207 Cowan Avenue, Unit A. We can't wait to welcome you there!

If you've never used a sewing machine or if you simply need a refresher, this class will build your sewing confidence. This workshop introduces you to the anatomy of the sewing machine and how to get started including, bobbin winding, threading, stitch selection and sewing seams. Put your knowledge into practice with a simple envelope pillow cover.

This beginner sewing class is one 3-hour session.

Prerequisite : None! This is a beginner sewing workshop

CLASS SUPPLIES : Class fees include workshop registration and in-shop use of sewing machines and irons. All supplies, materials and personal tools are to be provided by each student, unless otherwise specified. Upon enrolment, a Class Confirmation and Supply List will be emailed by our shop team so that these items can be gathered or purchased prior to the class. We welcome a visit, call or email with any questions regarding this workshop and the required supplies prior to registration.

CANCELLATION POLICY : Class fees are non-refundable. Any cancellations or changes to your registration must be done at least 72 hours prior to the class start date in order to be issued a store credit. Cancellations that are made less than 72 hours before the class start date and students who do not show up to class will forfeit their class fee.

Since 2007, we've taught our sewing machine essentials to thousands of students. We love to see where this foundational class takes your personal making journey. We can't wait to help you learn new skills, techniques and projects. The possibilities are endless. We are so excited to welcome you into our creative community!

Learn in our Parkdale Studio

Come to class in our bright and fully equipped sewing studio. Use of our Bernina sewing machines is included for all our workshops. Once you have taken our Essentials workshop, you can rent time in our studio to work independently on your own projects.

Step One - the Essentials

Our Essentials Series is designed to give you a thorough introduction to the Sewing Machine as a key tool to unlock your future sewing goals in just three hours. From here we encourage you to take the next step towards the things you'd like to make. Whether you want to make garments, accessories or quilts we've got a class (or ten) for that!
