Did someone say quilt shop road trip? We are a week into the Ontario Row by Row Experience, and we are already seeing lots of new faces in the shop! If you participated last year, you know that the Row by Row shop hop is a great way to discover new quilt shops. Here’s how it works: participating quilt shops all over Ontario and beyond each have their own free pattern for a row. You can pick up Row by Row patterns until September 8. There’s a list of participating shops on the Row by Row Experience website. (And, if you’re travelling outside of Ontario, check out the full list of participating shops around North America.)

This year’s theme is water, and Johanna Masko has designed another great pattern for us! Our pattern is called Bottled Up, and it features some of Johanna's foundation paper piecing magic! We had so many people asking for kits last year that we’ve got those available too. Our kit features some bubbly fabrics from Cotton + Steel, and Alison Glass There are two kit options to choose from: one ($20) contains Essex Yarn Dyed Espresso background fabric, and the other ($14) leaves the background fabric choice up to you.

And, Row by Row isn’t just a shop hop. You could win 25 fat quarters by creating a quilt using at least 8 different 2015 rows from 8 different participating shops and be the first to bring it into a participating shop. If you’ve used that shop’s row in your quilt, you can also win a bonus prize. You have until October 31 (or until someone collects the prize!) to bring in your finished quilt for a prize. Last year, our winner was Kathy McCallum from Guelph (who got bonus points for including our row in her quilt). Who will it be this year?
